In this hands-on workshop\, educators will learn how to design and implement Environmental Literacy and Sustainability (ELS)-focused experiences that meet the Pennsylvania STEELS standards. Participants will explore strategies for connecting students to their local ecosystem\, designing investigations that matter to their community\, and fostering student action. Participants will: \n\n\n\n\n– Learn the fundamentals of the MWEE framework.\n\n\n\n– Explore how the Leaf Pack Network can bring stream ecology into the classroom.\n\n\n\n– Connect STEELS standards with hands-on\, outdoor learning experiences.\n\n\n\n– Learn about environmental issues and outdoor learning.\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis full-day outdoor training will be held at the Stroud Center\, where you’ll step into their research stream to collect and identify macroinvertebrates — a fun\, immersive way to engage with watershed science. \n\n\n\nPlease dress for outdoor exploration and fall weather!
