Flowing into the STEELS: Exploring Environmental Literacy, MWEEs, and Hydroponics

  • Where: Erie National Wildlife Refuge Center, Visitors’ Center, 11296 Wood Duck Lane, Guys Mills, PA 16327.
  • Audience: K-12 classroom teachers, administrators and curriculum designers, preservice teachers, and nonformal educators.
  • Credits: Six Act 48 continuing education hours will be provided for Pa. Certified Teachers.
  • Cost: Free, including lunch.
  • MWEE Designation: Pa. Certified MWEE Ambassador.

Don’t miss this incredible dive into the new Environmental Literacy and Sustainability Standards, part of the new PA STEELS Standards, where you will explore the Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience (MWEE) framework, the power of local environmental education partners, and receive the tools and materials to bring hands-on hydroponics learning experiences to life in your classroom.

This program is for formal and nonformal educators. Lunch will be provided, and participants will leave with an incredible bevy of giveaways. This is a professional development experience not to be missed! Six Act 48 hours are available. Completion of the MWEE 101 online course is an additional eight Act 48 hours.
