MWEE In Your Schoolyard Teacher Professional Development

• When: Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Where: Carbon County Environmental Education Center, 151 East White Bear Drive, Summit Hill, PA 18250.
• Audience: K-12 classroom teachers.
• Credits: Act 48 continuing education hours will be provided for Pa. Certified Teachers.
• Cost: Free, including lunch.
• MWEE Designation: Pa. Certified MWEE Ambassador.

Have you ever heard of the MWEE (Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience)? It’s an engaging framework that gets students to dive into local, place-based environmental issues, sparking their curiosity and boosting their environmental literacy through hands-on action projects. It’s an awesome way to connect with the new PA STEELS Environmental Literacy and Sustainability standards. Open to all educators K-12 for 6 Act 48 hours. To earn a Pa. MWEE Ambassador certification and 8 additional Act 48 hours, the asynchronous MWEE 101 course must also be completed.
