Science on the Lake

• When: Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Where: Canoe Creek State Park, 205 Canoe Creek Road, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
• Audience: K-12 classroom teachers.
• Credits: Five and a half Act 48 continuing education hours will be provided for Pa. Certified Teachers.
• Cost: Free.
• MWEE Designation: Pa. Certified MWEE Ambassador.

Join us at Canoe Creek State Park on May 7th for a special Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEE) event, where we will be kayaking as part of our outdoor learning experience!

The MWEE is a learner-centered framework that empowers students to investigate local environmental issues and take informed action. MWEEs include multiple components that blend outdoor and classroom learning, designed to increase environmental literacy through hands-on, experiential learning.

By engaging with core ideas and practices from various disciplines, students explore the relationships between the natural world and society. These experiences help students connect with their local environment, equipping them to make decisions that contribute to stronger, sustainable, and equitable communities.
