Aquatic WILD Educator Workshop

July 17 @ 9:00 am to 4:00 pm EDT

  • When: Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Where: Pennypack Environmental Center, 8600A Verree Road, Philadelphia, PA 19115.
  • Audience: Grades 3-12 classroom teachers, preservice teachers, nonformal educators, and community members.
  • Credits: Six Act 48 continuing education hours will be provided for Pa. Certified Teachers.
  • Cost: $10, as this workshop is not grant funded.

Join Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) and Pennypack Environmental Center educators for an in-person educator workshop. You will receive your own copy of the award-winning Aquatic WILD K-12 Curriculum & Activity Guide as well as lessons and activities to integrate wildlife education into your teaching. You’ll learn about fish biology, urban waterways, watersheds in Pennsylvania, and more!

Be sure to dress appropriately as we will be both indoors & outside. If you would like to be in the water during the stream study, bring waterproof boots or waders. Bring water and a bag lunch. Light refreshments will be available in the morning.

This workshop is suitable for both formal and nonformal educators and is targeted towards grade levels 3-12.

Payment may be cash, check, or money order made out to the City of Philadelphia. Payment may be mailed to Pennypack Environmental Center or brought to workshop day of. Register by Monday, July 14 to reserve your spot!
